About SKR Meridian
The Gulf Presence
SKR Meridian is the Gulf presence The practice brings over three decades of direct India-side experience to Gulf principals navigating Indian markets. It is the India-side institution made accessible to Gulf-based principals who need a credible, senior advisory relationship on the India side of the corridor.
The practice serves Gulf principals who have India interests: existing investments, active entry processes, joint venture relationships, or the intent to develop any of these. The advisory relationship is built on three decades of direct work inside the Indian finance system: RBI-regulated environments, FEMA-framed capital structures, and the private credit and trade finance markets that run alongside them.
SKR Meridian provides services on a cross-border advisory basis. It is operating on a cross-border advisory basis from India. This is stated clearly because it matters: a client engaging an unlicensed entity for regulated financial services in the UAE takes on risk the institution is not willing to create for them. What is offered here is India-side advisory, available to Gulf-based principals, conducted with full institutional standards and strict confidentiality.
The Principal
Founder & Principal Advisor
The practice is built on a professional career that began in Indian financial services in the late 1980s and has continued without interruption since. Three decades of direct work at the transaction level, across multiple RBI policy cycles, two major SEBI regulatory overhauls, and the full arc of India's capital market development from a closed domestic system to one of the world's most actively tracked emerging markets.
For a Gulf principal, that history has a specific value. India looks different from the inside. The regulatory environment that appears opaque from outside is navigable from within. The counterparty landscape that seems inaccessible without local connections is accessible through thirty years of institutional relationships. The structural decisions that look straightforward from outside carry risks that only become visible after you have seen the same type of structure fail under a regulatory shift that was visible in advance to anyone who had been watching the right indicators.
The Gulf presence of SKR Meridian exists because that India-side knowledge is directly relevant to the Gulf principal making decisions about India. Not as a theory of the market, but as a practical tool for navigating it correctly.
Discretion is not a feature. It is the default.
One conversation is usually sufficient to establish whether there is alignment.
What this means for you
When a Gulf principal brings an India question: entry structure, FDI compliance, counterparty identification, or capital deployment: the RBI, FEMA, DPIIT, and SEBI context is not researched in response. It is already held. Thirty years of operating inside these frameworks means the relevant intelligence is current, contextualised, and available immediately.
SKR Meridian does not lend, invest, or take positions. It does not receive referral fees from lenders, introductory commissions from Indian counterparties, or performance-linked compensation from any party. Every engagement is advisory and fee-based. The advice given reflects the Gulf principal's situation and interest only.
An introduction to an Indian counterparty, a banking relationship, or a regulatory contact from an advisor with thirty years of India-side standing arrives differently than one from a broker or a new intermediary. This is not a claim about access. It is a description of how institutional relationships work in Indian finance, and what decades of building them actually produces for a client who needs them.
Services are provided on a cross-border advisory basis to clients in the Gulf region. SKR Meridian is not an NBFC and does not accept deposits, lend funds, or invest in securities. All engagements are advisory and fee-based only.
Bring the interest, the obstacle, and the timeline. One conversation is usually sufficient to establish whether there is a path and what it looks like from the India side.
